2021 revealed many things

2021 revealed many things – most notably, our team’s resilience in the face of uncertainty and clients who are committed to trusting us as their local builder.

Who else entered 2021 hoping that all the challenges of 2020 were long behind us? As COVID-19 lingered into another year, the pandemic’s effects continued to impact our supply chains, trades and site access; our display homes and sale teams; and, put unexpected stress on our valued clients. To these clients, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for your understanding and patience.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Geelong Homes in 2021. The popularity of the HomeBuilder grant ensured that we were busy building houses all year. Our site managers and teams of subcontractors have been working tirelessly to meet the demands while continuing to build our homes at the highest quality – a standard of home that we’re known for.

This year, we closed our popular Warralily display homes – our Riverside 246 and our Flinders 221 – after four great years and opened new displays.

First up, was our Thornhill 212 and our first-ever double-storey home the Noble 196 in the new Anchoridge Estate. We were excited to use the two display homes, which sat side by side, to demonstrate the differences between a home that has updated inclusions – our Thornhill 212 – and one that features standard inclusions – our Noble 196. It was another way we could demonstrate our commitment to transparency.

This year we also opened another new display – our Flinders 221 in the new display village at Armstrong Mt Duneed. This was another first – the first time we built a display featuring our popular Bungalow facade.

Another project that we have been proud to be part of is the Homes Vic Building New Homes to Fight Homeless Project. This is an exciting project for the growth of quality social housing in our state and we’re proud to be part of it. About 1000 new homes will be built across Victoria as part of the project and we’ve been building these homes in the northern suburbs of Geelong and in Ballarat.

It’s been six months since I first joined Geelong Homes as general manager and even in this short time I have witnessed our local team rise up to many challenges, while continuing to demonstrate the quality, attention to detail and excellent customer service that Geelong Homes is known for. I am proud of our team’s focus and commitment to our clients.

We will be shutting down our office from midday Friday 17 December and will reopen Monday 10 January. Our displays will be closed from Monday 20 December and will reopen Saturday 8 January.

On behalf of all of us at Geelong Homes, we’d like to wish you all a safe and happy festive season and I look forward to seeing what 2022 has to bring!
